Thanks for the update Matt! It was a real shame we couldn't get there for the comps, but with less than a weeks notice, I'd already written the roster.
It looked like a good turn out all things considered though!
After last years, I think 17 competitors, I really thought the Perth Barista Culture was going to another level. Did ASCAA only announce the dates late or something?? Whatever happened, lets hope that the next Perth comps give everyone the opportunity to compete, judge and watch! It's so good for the public too! This event really highlights the industry and combines all roasters and baristas...that's what I felt at last years comps anyway!
Do you think that Perth will hold a comp for all 5 categories next? That would be cool too...
Anyway, glad you were there for the cause Matt!

Why thanks Rachel, I hope my future self looks as svelte :)

Although yes, this was in fact the 2009 edition of the competition. Due to the 2009 world barista comps being pushed forward to the start of the year, all the lead up regional, state, and national events, had to be moved to the end of 2008 to get them run in time. Which was unfortunate and made things a bit rushed... but nonetheless, here we are :)

You will never see a typo quite so grand as that on here I'm afraid...
